How to prevent wet dreams, nocturnal emission or nightfall:

Even though wet dreams or nocturnal emissions are natural but if you're already working so hard by giving up many desires, why let wet dreams ruin your streak and drain your energy?

Below are some steps that you can take to avoid wet dreams, which is also known as nocturnal ejaculation, nocturnal emission or nightfall. 

These steps might be extreme for those who are not practicing semen retention for spiritual purposes. If you're not practicing anything but just want to avoid wet dreams for your own reasons, you can choose your own way of avoiding wet dreams out of the many ways. 

A simple and less extreme way is to just not think about wet dreams and focus your energy and thoughts on something else like a hobby of yours, daily, throughout the day. Doing this will make the mind fixed on one thing and it will not flow towards sexual thoughts even during sleep. But to get established in semen retention forever, the ways listed below will definitely help.

Way 1 - Avoid wet dreams by avoiding erotic thoughts.


Erotic thoughts can lead to subtle impressions of desire which will reside in the mind and the mind will try to fulfill them whenever the situation arises. If it does not get a chance, then it will do so through wet dreams. Therefore, avoid any kind of erotic thought at all costs.


2) Avoid sleeping too much.

If you wake up early, just wake up at one go and exercise, run or meditate. Even if you want to do nothing, just wake up and get out of the bed. Don't sleep again because oversleeping will lead to wet dreams. Wet dreams most often happen in the second round of sleep.

Avoid situations that can make you stressed. A relaxed and a calm mind will not gravitate towards release of the sexual fluids, even during sleep.

The mind often goes towards sexual release or craves erotic content thinking it will give happiness or it will relieve stress. It tricks you into believing that and that's why people relapse and can't maintain longer streaks of semen retention.

The mind makes you believe that you will become happy and porn or ejaculation will relax your mind. But actually it does the opposite. Instead of  making you happy, it will make you weak and addicted and the circle of unhappiness and turning towards porn or ejaculation will continue. Only you can stop it with your willpower.


9) Relax your mind before sleeping. 

Meditate for longer periods of time. You can use music for relaxing your mind before sleeping. If you are stressed about something, it's better to not sleep without first detaching your mind from the things that are making you stressed. Many people prefer directly sleeping for de-stressing but after you wake up the same thoughts might linger and disturb you. 

That's why it's better to detach your mind from the thoughts and emotions that are troubling you and then sleep.

Excessive heat is often the cause of wet dreams, that's why spicy foods and stressful thoughts should be avoided. Cold showers will surely help in controlling heat and it will make you feel relaxed and calm. It also makes you feel fresh and revived and it gives you freedom from laziness.

After the initial days, you don't have to rely on cold showers to avoid nocturnal emissions, your body will automatically remain cool and the mind calm.

11) Don't drink a lot of water before sleeping.

While you can drink as much water as you want during the day, try to reduce the amount of water you drink before sleeping. Drinking a lot of water will lead to a full stomach and you may get urges to urinate. But during sleep, that same urge may feel a lot like sexual urges and might lead to wet dreams. 15) Meditation - best way to prevent wet dreams

Meditation is the best way to avoid wet dreams. Meditating doesn't have to be forced. You can even meditate while listening to soothing music and calm songs. Or while doing an activity that you love, like reading about something you love or doing some work, you might have noticed that the mind stays focused for a long period of time. That can be also considered meditation. Keeping the mind still and one pointed at a particular thing for a long period of time.

The other way of meditating is letting the thoughts flow and not reacting to them. You can play music in the background while doing this. But the most beneficial way is to make the mind completely blank. It should not be forced. If you let the thoughts flow, at a point your thoughts will lessen and lessen. If you love listening to music, try to focus your mind on the music and merge your mind with it, and get completely absorbed in the music. Doing this practice daily for a long period of time will make the mind free from anger, lust, greed or any other harmful emotions and thoughts which leads to undesirable consequences.

It sounds simple and easy to control but it is not easy. It is simple, but it takes practice and consistency to cultivate positivity in every step, every day of your life. It's been almost a year of writing this article on wet dreams and semen retention. Whenever I get a wet dream, it's usually due to not following one or the other of the above steps.

After much experimenting, I found that we also need to focus more on controlling other habits like procrastination, laziness and of course anger along with other bad habits. 
 
Earlier whenever I used to have a wet dream because of actions like overeating or having spicy foods, I used to regret and become angry but it never helped. The moment I started to become less angry and made my mind completely free of regret and anger, day by day, my wet dreams also started to reduce magically.

The more we improve ourselves and keep our mind controlled and calm, the less chance we will have of wet dreams. In this case, music helped me a lot. 
 
If you listen to calm, chillout, ambient or downtempo music before sleeping, wet dreams will definitely be in control since the mind also remains relaxed and in a peaceful state.

Don't try to control too much and don't become too attached to stopping wet dreams. If you are having many wet dreams per week, don't stress and just let it be. If you feel less energy, try to meditate daily, do breathing exercises daily for the mind and do physical activities like working out, running, walking or spending time in nature, swimming or cycling for both the body and your mind.

If you keep your mind and body busy, active and disciplined by doing the above activities, wet dreams will definitely reduce. It takes time but once you become firmly established in mind control and self-discipline, you'll be surprised that stopping wet dreams will never again be a problem and you will be able to continue your retention journey without any difficulty.

Yes, wet dreams can be really frustrating since it drains your energy but you can definitely reduce them.
