If you don't want to go through the hassle of connecting your Brother printer to the Wi-Fi using the limited keys on your printer, you can use your phone to connect the printer with your wireless network.
1. First, install the Brother Mobile Connect app on your phone or tablet.
2. Tap on the printer icon on the top-right.
or
3. Select "Add Machine".
4. On the next screen, select "Connect your machine to Wi-Fi".
5. Now select "Auto detect brother machines".
6. If it's not able to auto detect your printer, than select the model no. of the printer manually from the list of the names of the printers.
7. Type the name of the printer and select the one that you have.
8. Then the Wi-Fi setup screen will show up.
9. Now, follow the instructions from the screen, press and hold the Wi-Fi button on your printer for more than 2 seconds and confirm that the "Check PC/DEVICE" appears on the printer's display.
10. Now select "Confirmed".
11. Now, go to the Wi-Fi settings on your phone/tablet and select the network starting with "SETUP- followed by your printer name".
12. Now, "Connecting" will start showing on your printer's display. Wait until "Connected" appears.
13. After you see "connected" on the printer, go the the Brother Mobile Connect app and select "Connected to Setup Wi-Fi Network".
14. Now it's time to connect to your actual Wi-Fi network by selecting "Change".
15. Now from the list of options, select your wireless network.
16. Enter the password of your network and tap on "Connect".
Now you should see the "Setting up" screen like the below screenshot.
You'll finally see the "Setup Successful" message.
It will also display the message that your printer is connected to your wireless network as displayed in the screenshot below.
