How to change YouTube comments translate language?

YouTube comments can become quickly annoying when you press translate and it doesn't translate to English, but to some other foreign language that you don't speak or don't want to see the translated comments in.

So, these are the steps that you need to take to change YouTube comments translate language to English -

Stop YouTube comments from translating to the wrong language -

1. Go to the My Account page.

2. Click on "Personal info".

3. Scroll down and under "General Preferences for the web", select the "Language" option.

4. Now remove any language present under "Other Languages" by clicking on the trash icon.

After the popup opens, confirm removal by clicking on "Remove".

Doing this will remove the language that was automatically added by YouTube.

5. If you don't want this to happen on YouTube again, that is, if you don't want YouTube to automatically translate comments in the future to some different language other than English or your preferred language, then unselect the option called "Automatically add languages".

This will stop YouTube from automatically adding any language in the future for translating comments.

You just have to turn the toggle button to off by clicking on it.

6. After the popup opens, click on "Stop adding".

That's it. Now it might take 1-2 days for this setting to take effect. It depends and can vary from user to user. After a time period, the YouTube comments will no longer be translated to some different language, but only to your preferred language.

If you change your mind and want to add any other language in the future for the translated comments, you can add them by clicking on the "Add another language" option.

You can also set or change your preferred language by clicking on the pencil icon and entering your desired language in the search box.
